The Micah Liverpool Recruitability Programme works with people who have been unemployed long-term, supporting them for 10 weeks to improve their skills, confidence and readiness for work.
We offer a variety of work placements in Liverpool Cathedral and within Micah Liverpool and our partner organisations.
All of our participants attend our in-house Recruitability training as well as completing an accredited qualification in a work-based skills such as Customer Service.
There are 3 key elements of the Recruitability Programme:
- Practical training and learning opportunities
Training sessions are held each week during the course; focusing on practical, useful skills that help people search for, and secure, the right job for them.
The training days also include a vocational course, provided by external trainers to strengthen your CV and job applications
- Placements
Placements vary due to availability but include roles such as, Customer Service, Catering, Administration, food bank, gardening and more. All work placements are on the Cathedral site or within a short distance of the Cathedral.
(A short safeguarding course is included within the course and needs to be completed to enable participants to volunteer within the programme.
- One to one support when needed
One to one support from one of our co-ordinators to help participants create an outstanding CV, prepare for interview or send in an amazing application.
The programme has no religious requirements and welcomes people from any background, culture or faith. We only have two requirements; you must want to get a job and you must be able to commit to the whole course.
Joining the programme is a 3 step process:
- Open day
This is a presentation to explain in more detail exactly what is involved
and expected of you if you come onto the programme. The session usually lasts between 1 and 2 hours and is based at Liverpool Cathedral.
- Application form
This is usually completed after the open day presentation but we can send them out before the open day if you know you’re interested in joining the programme.
- 1-2-1 interview
After attending the open day and completing the application form we will complete a 1-2-1 interview to make sure that we are the right programme for you and you are the right person for the programme.
