Why should I volunteer?
Volunteering is an amazing way of putting something back into your community. It is both satisfying and rewarding. It gives you the chance to learn new skills and gain different experiences. Most of all, you will be making a real difference to people who are in real need of support.
Who can volunteer?
We couldn’t do what we do without the support of our volunteers! We welcome volunteers from all walks of life, backgrounds and cultures. Anyone age 18+ who is enthusiastic, flexible, fair minded and a team player can apply.
What will I do?
We have a number of volunteer roles. These include distributing food parcels at our foodbanks; serving at our community markets; sorting in our storeroom; and general admin work. Wherever possible we will match you to an opportunity that best fits you.
Where will I be based?
We operate two foodbanks in L1 and L8. We have two community markets in L7 and L8. We also offer volunteer opportunities at our storeroom based at Liverpool Cathedral. We can cover travel costs.
When will I be required?
This all depends on the amount of time you are able to spare. Our foodbanks are open on Tuesdays and Thursdays (10.30am – 12.30pm). Our community markets are open on Wednesdays and Fridays (10.00am – 12.00pm). Office and storeroom based roles can be arranged at a time to suit you.
Will I receive training?
Our volunteer teams are very friendly and supportive. They will look after you when you first start. You will be assigned a ‘buddy’ who will show you all the ropes and answer any questions you may have. We also offer safeguarding training and provide other opportunities to receive training throughout the year.
How do I apply?
