Return of the Reverse Advent Calendar

Its that time of year again… The festive season is upon us and Micah Liverpool is rolling out our reverse advent calendar.

If you don’t already know, a reverse advent calendar uses the same format as an Advent Calendar but instead of receiving a gift each day throughout advent you give a gift. Below we have our reserve advent calendar and in each window there is an item that we use in our foodbank parcels. If you can take on the reverse advent calendar challenge you will be able to give a whole parcel as well as a selection box, a child’s toy and a £5 donation.

This food is vitally needed especially over the festive period, we will give over 1000 food parcels this December and will need each and every donation to ensure we can help make Christmas as enjoyable as possible for those who need it most.

As well as the food donation in the reverse advent calendar we also ask for a selection box, during the Christmas week we hope to give each adult and child who use our food aid sessions a selection box as a little Christmas gift in addition to their food parcel. To add that little more Christmas cheer we also ask for a Toy, this is so we can give each child a gift from Father Christmas and to ensure that every child leaves our foodbank with some Christmas spirit. We also ask for a £5 donation this is to help with the running costs of the foodbank, this includes helping with the cost of our van and goes towards buying fresh fruit and vegetables to give as part of food parcel.

You can find our reverse advent calendar below, you can also print off a copy here.

We hope you can take on the reverse advent calendar challenge, if you do you can drop your donation at the donation point at Liverpool cathedral, if you have a particularly large donation then please contact Paul O’Brien on 07932 842 337 or paul.obrien@liverpoolcathedral.org.uk to arrange a pick up.
