Micah Liverpool will officially launch at 6pm on Tuesday 20th February.
Building on the successful work of Hope+ Food Bank and the Liverpool Cathedral Volunteer Programme the new Micah Liverpool charity will bring together these projects under a new social justice banner. The team remains unchanged and the work that both the food bank and the volunteer programme do will stay the same. The rebrand allows us to provide a more comprehensive, joined up service by bringing together both previous elements of Hope+ Food Bank and Liverpool Cathedral Volunteer Programme.
Working on behalf of Liverpool Cathedral, Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King and St Bride’s Church, Micah Liverpool will works towards alleviating and eradicating poverty for Liverpool City Region residents.
We aim to do this by:
Providing food and other household items
Providing advice and support to overcome financial problems and maximise their income, including the development of Recruitability™ programmes to assist individuals to contribute productively to society
Raising public awareness of issues relating to poverty, both generally and in relation to social exclusion
Signposting to relevant information and advisory services
The preservation and protection of good physical and mental health of individuals, families and the wider community of the area of benefit
The launch takes place on February 20th 6pm in the Lady Chapel at Liverpool Cathedral, anyone who wants to come and find out more about our work is welcome to come along.
